Gunmen have again struck in Adamawa, abducting the wife and son of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar’s security detail.
The kidnappers had invaded the house of the policeman on Monday night at Yolde-Pate area of Yola, the state capital, but were disappointed that he was unavailable.
They seized his wife and son and bolted from the house, a source said.
Also abducted in the city on Monday night was the elder brother of the Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly, Alhaji Hammantukur Yetisuri.
The kidnappers captured him from his home at Jada Mbulo, who have demanded a N50 million ransom.
“The gunmen got to the community about 2.00am, shooting and breaking into the house of the lawmaker’s brother.
“They got away with the man, shouting that they would not return the man unless the family paid N50 million,” the source said.
Meanwhile, the spokesman for the Adamawa State Police Command, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, has confirmed the incidents.
He promised that the police would do “everything to free the abducted people and bring the gunmen to book’’.
