2023: PDP Southwest group reads riot act to Fayose, others, vows to retire them from politics

112

The PDP Unity Frontiers, Southwest zone, has vowed to retire from active politics those engineering unwarranted and unprovoked political crisis in the zone ahead of 2023 polls.

The group fingered the immediate past Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose, and some party chieftains for being masterminds and has therefore, raised the red flag for  them.

Mr Sanmi Omolabi, the spokesman for  the group, who handed down the warning in Osogbo, the Osun state capital on Wednesday, said they would not fold their arms and allow any action that could jeopardize the fortunes of  party come 2023.

“The youth of the Southwest zone will vehemently and aggressively oppose such leaders and perhaps retire them from active politics.

“We will not allow any action that has the capacity to jeopardize the fortunes of our dear party come 2023.

“The time has passed when some so-called leaders will create unwarranted crisis to benefit their inordinate ambitions and selfish ego at the detriment of the majority of party members,” he said.

Omolabi warned: “We are sounding a note of warning to them that it will not be business as usual anymore. The rules of our party even unwritten clearly states who occupies leadership position at any given time. Then why fanning embers of discord?”

He called on the party’s National Working Committee “to stand firm and reject any form of intimidation by a section of selfish, egocentric, power drunk leaders in Southwest who may want to create wanton crisis in the Southwest zone.”

“We desire peace, unity and progress that is not negotiable at all levels of our party structures and we will not take anything less.”
