A famed pastor of a growing Christian organisation in the United Kingdom, SPAC Nation, Nigerian-born Tobi Adegboyega, has stepped down from the pulpit as pastor, paving the way for two new Senior Pastors as helmsmen.
Handing over to the next generation is what Africans or churches must learn to do, he said.
Adegboyega has handed over the reins to the duo of Pastors Sam Akokhia and Damilola Balogun, having earned their “stripes’’, while he moves on to the next phase of his calling which is to replicate the SPAC Nation model in other nations as global Lead Pastor.
Anointing them for the “deep’’after a five-day word explosion of the Church, Adegboyega, said SPAC Nation which started a decade ago with just three members has experienced membership growth to thousands.
“My stepping down is informed by the need for the next generation to take over.
“I have done this handover since 2019. I have spoken to the church, I have spoken to the public and I have granted numerous interviews during which I mentioned this.
“Handing over to the next generation is what Africans or churches must now learn. How do we talk about leadership without actually putting people in leadership positions? ” he said.
“I feel the call of God to establish this same template to help churches reach young people all over the world and to make them productive.’
