For allegedly plundering Nigeria’s whopping $2.5 billion, former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani K. Alison-Madueke, should be extradited to face trial without further delay, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has demanded
EFCC Chairman Ibrahim Magu insisted that for the humongous theft of $2.5 billion, she must be sent back to Nigeria for prosecution.
“This woman has stolen so much, not less than 2.5 billion dollars, but unfortunately she has generation of looters who are supporting her. This is not good.
“We are in touch with the international community, she is under protective custody, otherwise, we would have arrested her, return her to Nigeria,” Magu
said at a news conference in Kaduna on Monday.
He said Diezani had a generation of looters supporting her actions, describing it as very bad for the country.
“I was in London this year, we did investigation together with the UK team, and anywhere I go I always call for extradition of corrupt Nigerians to return back the money.
“We will not allow corruption to work here in Nigeria because it is destructive and disastrous. We blocked several accounts,” Magu said.
PerSecondnews recalls that some of Diezani’s properties in Nigeria worth billions of Naira have been forfeited to the Federal Government in interim orders granted by the courts being proceeds of corruption
