The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), says it has uncovered plots by the APC led Federal Government and the Kaduna state government, to allow the IMN leader, Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife die in detention.

A statement signed by the Coalition’s spokesperson, Barr. Ikenga Ugochinyere, explains that contrary to public posturing of the Federal Government and their security agencies that they have obeyed the order, there is no realistic move to obey the court order to allow the embattled IMN leader proceed on treatment to India.

According to the CUPP, “new intelligence has been obtained of a well calculated plot by the APC Government in connivance with Kaduna State Government led by Governor El-rufai, to frustrate the court order granting bail to El-Zakzaky and his wife, and continue to keep them in detention with new strange legal demands unknown to law and designed to ensure the Shiites leader remains and dies in illegal detention eventually by been denied access to needed urgent medical attention.”

The statement by CUPP accused Governor El-Raufai as the arrowhead of the said plot working with the Federal Government by demanding and filing what it described as “a frivolous strange application on diplomatic issues and other impossible demands and also actually varying the order of court granting immediate release.”

It was opined that the move was all in a bid to keep the Shiites leader whose health has been said to had worsened in detention and possibly lead to his death which is inevitable if he does not get urgent medical treatment.

The Coalition lamented in the statement that “the flagrant violation of law and order was now how the nation has turned into poverty capital of the world, headquarters of killer bandits in West Africa, corruption centre, nepotism hub etc.

“We are ruled today by men who learnt their politics from ruthless dictators and a political party that does not understand the requirements of constitutional democracy and is working to surpass the record of Mobutu Seseseko’s, Idi Amin’s, Blaise Campore’s, Paul Biya’s ruling parties. Let us make this clear, the opposition will not stand by and watch as these autocrats destroy the last vestiges of our democracy,” the statement also added.

The CUPP said that the APC led Government is a constitutional government and not a farming field that belongs to President Buhari and Governor El-Rufai, stressing that “shenanigans must stop; this pushing of people to wall must stop.”

The CUPP via the statement, expressed fears that the Nigeria was sliding into total anarchy as it called on the President to stop and urge those the CUP referred to as his errand boys to respect the law.

The statement also urged Kaduna State government to learn to obey the Courts and not sit on appeal over the order of the High Court of Kaduna.

The CUPP conclusively warned that if anything happens to El-Zakzaky while in custody, Nigerians should hold President Buhari and Gov. Nasir El-Rufai responsible.
