The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, (IRCC) flatly denied report in the media about asking President Muhammadu Buhari to allow 1 million Nigerian immigrant move over to Canada, in a bogus Canadian immigration program.
In an email to Per Second News, Nancy Caron, spokesperson for the Canadian Immigration said the report was not only false but misleading.
” Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) regularly monitors for online misinformation and disinformation. ” The information published in the article is not true. Yesterday, we issued a tweet and facebook post from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s official accounts informing people that the immigration program referenced does not exist.
Stressing further she said, When false information is being circulated, as in this case, we aim to act quickly to provide facts. Little information is publically available about who registered or is responsible for the content.
However, the content and tactics of the website that initially published the report suggest that it has been designed with the intention of spreading incorrect or misleading information, Ms Caron concluded.
