This is her fourth fellowship in two years, having first been awarded the Bloomberg Media Initiative Africa fellowship in 2016, as well as the BudgIT Media Fellowship in 2017 and the YouthHub Africa Media Fellowship in 2018.
The Female Reporters’ Leadership Fellowship, of which Miss Olurounbi is a receipient, aims to empower “female journalists with the skills, finesse, support and tools to take bold steps that help position them for the highest leadership positions in their various media houses,” according to Motunrayo Alaka, the Centre Coordinator for WSCIJ.
Prior to joining Per Second News, Miss Olurounbi worked with the Nigerian Tribune Newspaper for nearly a decade where she covered series of local and international events including the U.S.-Africa Infrastructure Conference in Washington DC, USA and Global Entrepreneurship Congress in Milan, Italy and World Economic Forum on Africa, held in Abuja, among others.
