Alleged N15B Fraud: You’re free to go, judge tells Bafarawa

Justice Bello Abbas of a Sokoto State High Court has discharged and acquitted ex-Sokoto gov, Attahiru Bafarawa and four others who were standing trial for charges bordering on conspiracy, criminal misappropriation, theft and receiving stolen funds of about 15 billion naira.

Bafarawa faced a 33-count charge bordering on corruption, illegal sale of government shares, misappropriation, criminal breach of trust, receiving stolen properties and unauthorised payments allegedly committed between between 2003 and 2007.
