Nigeria House Secures Slot In Moscow For Monday

 Abuja – While still savoring the victory of the Super Eagles over Iceland in Russia on Friday, Nigeria again added another feathers to its cap in the ongoing FIFA Fiesta in Russia.

This followed the securing of a slot by the Nigeria House project for the 2018 FIFA World Cup at the Red Square in Moscow, Capital of Russia for Monday June 25, 2018.

This was confirmed in a statement made available to Persecond News by the Project Coordinator of Nigeria House, Mallam Mohammed Baba Abdullahi, who said that following coordinated diplomacy and effective interaction, the Local Organizing Committee of the ongoing World Cup in Russia approved the slot.

Abdullahi said; “The Local Organising Authority has allotted Monday, June 25, 2018 as the Official `NIGERIA DAY` for the global football fiesta.

“This is a very important and highly effective medium to showcase Nigeria’s heritage.”

The Project Coordinator of Nigeria House explained that going by the FIFA events schedule, Monday, the 26th of June is a match free day in Moscow thus would afford Russians in particular and other international visitors to the FIFA fiesta the opportunity to visit the Nigeria House where a lot of the our cultural activities have been line up to showcase the `NIGERIA DAY` at the

FIFA FAN FESTIVAL ZONE in Moscow.

Abdullahi also said that the Nigeria House had in collaboration with the Embassy of Nigeria in

Russia been in close contact with the relevant authorities with a view to put together this hospitality project to promote our great nation.

He further said; “Highlights of the programme on parade for the `NIGERIA DAY` will be Cultural

Entertainment, Musical Show, Exhibition and Taste of Nigeria Cuisine (Food).

“The Nigeria House in collaboration with Nigeria Football Supporter`s Club, Russia Chapter, as well as the Nigeria Community Association in Russia had earlier hosted a welcome party in Moscow on the June 14, 2018 and since then, the team has been on ground coordinating affairs on hospitality and welfare for teeming Nigerian supporters entering through Moscow for the World Cup.”
