In Pictures: Tears and tributes at Nollywood actress Aishat Abimbola’s burial in Canada

Aisha Abimbola was buried Thursday in a simple, solemn ceremony attended by tearful fans, friends and well wishers at a Canadian cemetery.  Dozens of fans welcomed the screen  star home to her final resting place.

‘She was a great actress. I’m deeply moved said, a Nigerian doctor based in Ontario, who wept while signing a condolence book at the cemetery.

‘I have every single one of her movies at home,’ she added with a smile.

 

Abimbola, died of breast cancer at a Canadian medical facility.

Her film career began in Lagos, ” I was rounding off my HND programme at LASPOTECH when Wale Adenuga Productions came to shoot in my school. The director gave me an opportunity to play a particular character, which another actress supposed to play but wasn’t on set that day. And that began my acting, she said in an interview recently.
