Kamo Clears the Air Over Funke Akindele’s Absence From ‘Star Lomo’ premiere

Comedian and filmmaker Kamo State has dispelled speculation surrounding Funke Akindele’s absence from the premiere of his much-anticipated movie, Star Lomo, insisting that there is no issue between them.

Akindele’s absence from the premiere had attracted attention on social media, with some users beginning to speculate about the state of her relationship with Kamo, whose real name is Akinyoola Ayoola.

But Kamo has now addressed the speculation, explaining that Akindele was simply out of the country when the premiere took place.

In a statement addressing the growing conversations online, the comedian said he woke up to different opinions about his relationship with the actress and felt the need to clarify what had happened.

“Please, we’re on good terms. She missed my premiere simply because she wasn’t in the country and nothing more to it,” he said.

Kamo stressed that her absence should not be interpreted as a sign of a disagreement or fallout between them, noting that the circumstances had already been discussed privately.

According to him, he and Akindele have spoken about her inability to attend the premiere, with the actress also indicating her continued support for the movie.

“We’ve spoken about it, and she’s going to support this film,” he said.

The clarification comes as interest in Star Lomocontinues to build ahead of its cinema release, with the premiere drawing attention from colleagues, fans and members of the entertainment industry.

Kamo also appeared keen to draw a line between the movie and speculation about his personal relationships, asking social media users to resist reading more into Akindele’s absence than the circumstances warranted.

“I would appreciate it if our personal relationship isn’t speculated on. Let’s keep our focus on the film,” he said.

The comedian’s comments effectively put his position on the matter on record, making it clear that he does not regard Akindele’s absence from the premiere as a reflection of any problem between them.

Rather, he maintained that the actress was outside the country and that both parties had already spoken about her absence.

With the speculation now addressed by Kamo himself, attention is expected to return to the movie as Star Lomo prepares for its theatrical release.
