Artist to burn artwork of Buhari as anger grows over ‘lazy’ Nigerian youths comment

1k

A Disaffected President Buhari’s supporter Thursday threatened to burn a beautiful artwork he did for the president in 2016 over statements the president made in London, that ‘a lot’ of youths in Nigeria are lazy.

“This being said… I will be burning this artwork I made in 2016 because you, Muhammadu Buhari are a shame to the millions of youth that voted you in, said Arinze Stanley on his verified Twitter page   8 hours ago

“It’s just sad that Nigeria is ruled by a dictator who has little to no touch with reality and only surrounds himself with his fellow old people.”

“I work 8 Hours in the day only to come back to my art studio and work for another 5 hours in the night. I am a Nigerian youth and I am not Lazy.”

This statement is an insult to every young hardworking citizen in Nigeria.

More hard-line elements of his support have criticised him for the comment.

Meanwhile, the presidency on Thursday said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s statement allegedly deriding majority of the Nigerian youths was distorted and twisted by some mischief makers to take political advantage.

“It is futile for mischief makers to lie in wait, and take a minor part of the words of the President, and turn it into negative commentary, peradventure they could diminish the profile of the President, said Spokesperson, Femi Adesina.

He said President Buhari said ‘a lot of and not all of Nigerian youths are lazy and only want free stuff from the government.
