In a significant blow to regional drug syndicates, the NDLEA arrested three suspects with disabilities for trafficking across Kwara and Anambra.
From the operation, the agency seized ₦5.8 billion worth of imported cannabis from a warehouse-mansion in Lekki, marking one of the largest recent recoveries of the substance.
Details of the operations were contained in a statement emailed to Persecondnews by the agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, on Sunday.
One of the suspects, 60-year-old Romanus Nwabara, was tracked to Akpaka Forest in Onitsha, Anambra State, following intelligence reports linking him to illicit drug sales.
NDLEA operatives reportedly recovered 250 grams of skunk packaged in retail sachets during the operation carried out on May 6.
In another raid at Ogbunike carried out on Thursday May 7, still in Anambra, officers arrested Amos Kenneth, 25, after recovering 160.3 grams of Tramadol in different dosages, 80 pills of Diazepam, 38.23 grams of Exol-5 and 176.93 grams of skunk from him.
The anti-narcotics agency said a third suspect, Usman Salisu, was intercepted during a patrol along Bode Saadu in Kwara State on Friday.
Investigators discovered 6.3 kilograms of skunk concealed inside a brown school bag in the commercial vehicle conveying him.
Meanwhile, in what officials described as one of the agency’s biggest seizures this year, operatives attached to the Special Operations Unit stormed a mansion located at 36 African Lane, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, where 4,000 parcels of Loud weighing 2,326 kilograms were uncovered.
The agency estimated the street value of the consignment at over N5.8 billion on Friday.
Two Mercedes-Benz buses and several designer packaging materials allegedly used for retail distribution were also recovered from the luxury property suspected to be serving as a major distribution hub.
Elsewhere, NDLEA operatives on Monday, May 4, 2026, arrested Emmanuel Osita Okeke with 129 kilograms of skunk at Nyanya-Karu in Nasarawa State.
Along the Okene-Lokoja highway in Kogi State, officers intercepted a white commuter bus heading for Abuja and recovered 76 jumbo bags of skunk weighing 766 kilograms on May 8.
Three suspects, Mathew Omohove, Ebuka Desmond and Babangida Musa were taken into custody in connection with the seizure.
The crackdown extended to Lagos, on Wednesday May 6, where operatives raided a makeshift skuchies production factory in the Ijora Badia area.
Two suspects identified as Bose Jamiu and Gbenga Gege were reportedly caught while mixing cannabis with other illicit substances to produce the psychoactive cocktail popularly known as skuchies.
Officials said 270 litres of the substance alongside 106 grams of Tramadol 225mg were confiscated from the site.
Beyond enforcement operations, the agency said its nationwide War Against Drug Abuse, WADA, campaign continued across schools, communities and religious centres during the week.
The sensitisation activities were held in educational institutions and communities across Nasarawa, Ekiti, Enugu, Abia, Lagos, Akwa Ibom, Kano and Oyo states.
NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, retired Mohamed Buba Marwa, commended officers involved in the operations for sustaining pressure on drug trafficking networks while simultaneously intensifying anti drug awareness campaigns nationwide.
