After reconciliation, Tonto Dikeh restores son’s surname to Churchill

Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has officially reverted her son’s surname to Churchill, following a heartfelt reconciliation with his father, businessman Olakunle Churchill.

The reversal comes after years of public tension between the former couple.

In 2019, Dikeh had changed her son’s name from King Andre Churchill to King Andre Dikeh, removing all traces of her ex-husband’s surname.

During that period, she frequently described herself as both mother and father to their child, citing the fractured relationship.

Now, having mended ties with Churchill, Dikeh took to Instagram to share a family photo with her ex-husband and their son, referring to him as King Andre Churchill.

Fans have hailed the gesture as a sign of unity and maturity.

Last month, Dikeh surprised many when she extended an olive branch to Churchill.

She reflected on a decade of public disputes, broken communication, bitterness, and pain, revealing that it was divine intervention that paved the way for reconciliation.

Churchill, breaking his silence, recounted the emotional moment he heard his son call him “Daddy” for the first time.

“It was deeply touching and a reminder that what God can’t do doesn’t exist,” he said. He also thanked Dikeh, praising her as “the amazing mother of my son for doing a good job.”

In response to her ex-husband’s comments, Dikeh referred to him affectionately as “Big Church” and expressed that she was celebrating him, signaling a fresh chapter in their co-parenting journey.

Social media users have also weighed in, praising the couple for prioritizing their son’s wellbeing.

Many celebrated the restoration of Churchill’s surname as a powerful example of forgiveness and collaboration for the sake of a child.

Fans flooded Instagram with supportive messages, noting that the reunion reflects a growing maturity in both parents.

“This is what co-parenting should look like,” one user wrote. “King Andre is lucky to have parents who can reconcile for him.”

Others emphasized the importance of setting aside personal differences to nurture a healthy parent-child bond.

“Seeing this gives hope to many families dealing with similar struggles,” another comment read.

The restoration of King Andre’s surname signals not only the healing of past wounds but also a renewed commitment to raising their son together.

As Dikeh and Churchill publicly embrace this reconciliation, many are hopeful that it marks the beginning of lasting peace for their family.
