Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has raised alarm over what she described as an overwhelming influx of romantic advances from men on social media, saying the situation has become unbearable.
In a video shared on her Instagram page, the outspoken actress appealed to the public for help in removing her phone number from Facebook after receiving thousands of unsolicited messages.
Nkechi revealed that more than 5,000 men have sent her direct messages, many of them expressing interest in marriage, leaving her confused about which of her online posts may have triggered the sudden attention.
The actress stressed that although she is currently single, she is not searching for a relationship and has no interest in entertaining marriage proposals from strangers.
She urged those messaging her to stop, describing the situation as intrusive and exhausting.
“Please, I need help on how to remove my phone number from Facebook. I have over 5,000 men in my DM saying they want to marry me. I don’t even know which video trended online. I’m single, but I’m not searching, please stop texting my number,” she said.
In a follow-up Instagram story, Nkechi issued a stronger warning, stating that anyone who locates her phone number on Facebook and attempts to contact her would be blocked immediately.
She expressed frustration over what she perceived as a lack of respect for her privacy.
The latest outcry comes against the backdrop of the actress’s highly publicised relationship history, which has often played out in the public eye.
Nkechi previously dated Ekiti State politician Opeyemi Falegan, a relationship that ended amid public disagreements and online exchanges between both parties.
In 2021, the actress confirmed she had moved on, announcing a new relationship with social media personality and fitness enthusiast Eseoghene Obire, popularly known as Xxssive.
The relationship lasted for over two years and was frequently showcased on social media, with Nkechi openly celebrating their bond.
However, in March 2024, Nkechi announced that she and Xxssive had parted ways.
She made it clear at the time that there was no bad blood between them and urged fans to respect their privacy, insisting the decision was mutual and peaceful.
Barely four months after the split, the actress once again stirred reactions online when she flaunted a new partner on social media.
She described him as the love of her life, explaining that she had initially vowed never to post her man again but changed her mind because, in her words, he was “too handsome to hide.”
She also claimed he had come into her life six months earlier and transformed it for the better.
During the festive season, Nkechi further fueled speculation about her love life after sharing photos of herself in matching pyjamas with a mystery man, hinting that she had expected to end the year single but believed divine intervention had altered her plans.
Despite her history of openly celebrating relationships online, the actress has now drawn a clear line, insisting she is not interested in new romantic pursuits and wants her privacy respected.
She reiterated that being single does not equate to actively searching for a partner and warned against continued attempts to contact her through personal channels.
