Arsenal and Chelsea played out a thrilling 1-1 draw in their English Premier League (EPL) encounter at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, with Mikel Merino scoring the equalizer for the Gunners.

The match was marked by a red card for Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo, who was sent off in the 38th minute for a dangerous tackle on Merino.

Despite being a man down, Chelsea took the lead through Trevor Chalobah’s header in the 48th minute.

However, Arsenal responded with a well-taken equalizer from Merino, who converted Bukayo Saka’s cross just before the hour mark.

The second half saw Chelsea push for a winner, but Arsenal’s defense held firm, preserving a 17-match unbeaten run in all competitions.

Mikel Arteta’s side remains top of the EPL, five points ahead of second-placed Manchester City.

In other matches, Liverpool ended a three-game losing streak with a 2-0 win over West Ham United, thanks to Alexander Isak’s first league goal for the Reds.

Manchester United also secured a comeback win, defeating Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park.
