Reality TV star and actress Mercy Eke recently opened up about undergoing a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) in 2018, admitting the decision was heavily influenced by peer pressure and prevailing beauty trends at the time.

The Big Brother Naija Season 4 winner made the disclosure in a resurfaced interview that has gained renewed attention on social media following recent conversations surrounding the risks associated with cosmetic surgery.

Speaking candidly, Mercy said she did not undergo the procedure because she disliked her natural body, insisting that she already had a good figure before deciding to alter her appearance.

“To be very truthful, it was the trend at the time. I did my body in 2018. I think it was because of the trend, maybe peer pressure. Everyone was doing it,” she said.

The reality TV personality explained that although she considered herself slim and attractive, she felt her stomach was “a little too much,” which influenced her decision to have liposuction and a BBL.

Mercy also admitted that she was terrified before the surgery and deliberately kept the decision away from her mother because she feared she would be discouraged from going ahead with the procedure.

According to her, she underwent the cosmetic surgery alongside two close friends after they jointly planned and paid for the procedure.

Recalling the aftermath of the operation, the entrepreneur described the recovery process as the most painful part of the experience, noting that the post-surgery massages were extremely uncomfortable.

She revealed that patients are unable to sleep on their buttocks for about two weeks after the operation and must instead lie on their stomachs throughout the recovery period.

Mercy further disclosed that many patients cry during the first few days after surgery because of the intense pain and discomfort associated with the healing process.

Despite the challenges, she maintained that she has no regrets about the procedure, stating that the outcome made the difficult recovery worthwhile.

The actress also addressed long-standing speculation about her facial appearance, clarifying that apart from temporary lip fillers, she has not undergone facial cosmetic surgery.

Looking ahead, she emphasized that any future cosmetic surgery would require deep research.

She said she planned to carefully vet the medical practitioner, ask tough questions about previous complications, and fully guarantee her safety before making a choice.
