A Bombardier Challenger 601 business jet reportedly made an emergency landing on an uncompleted road in Delta State on Wednesday morning following a botched approach to Asaba International Airport.

According to the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), the aircraft initiated a missed approach around 7:43 a.m. local time during its descent into Asaba, ultimately touching down on a under-construction highway in the nearby Ogwashi-Uku area.

The aircraft later departed from the road and flew back to Lagos without obtaining the necessary regulatory clearance, prompting immediate action from aviation authorities.

Upon arrival in Lagos, the jet was grounded, while the flight crew was placed under regulatory review pending the outcome of an investigation.

The NCAA also announced the suspension of the operator’s permit for Non-Commercial Flight until further inquiries are concluded.
