Veteran Actor Baba Gebu is Dead

Nigeria’s entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of veteran actor Baba Gebu, who reportedly passed away abroad.

According to reports, the seasoned actor, who graced many television screens in the 1990s, died after a brief illness, though details surrounding his death remain sketchy as of press time.

Baba Gebu was widely celebrated for his versatility and charisma on screen, earning him a place among the most respected figures in Nollywood’s golden era.

He featured in several hit movies that defined the early days of the Nigerian film industry and inspired many of today’s leading stars.

His colleagues and fans have begun pouring in tributes on social media, describing him as a humble, disciplined, and talented performer whose contributions helped shape Nollywood into the global powerhouse it has become.

One of his longtime co-stars recalled how Baba Gebu’s professionalism and sense of humor made film sets lively and memorable.

“He was more than a colleague; he was a mentor and a father figure to many of us,” the actor said.

The family is yet to release an official statement or details regarding funeral arrangements, but close associates said plans are underway to repatriate his remains to Nigeria.
