The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has suffered another significant blow with the defection of Enugu Governor Peter Mbah to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This move comes as the PDP postpones its 103rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting due to internal conflicts and looming defections.

Mbah cited the need to better serve the people of Enugu and align with the APC’s vision for development and progress as reasons for his decision.

“Leadership demands difficult, even painful decisions, in the service of higher principles and goals,” Mbah said during a press conference. “Today, after a long reflection, we have made a decision to join the All Progressives Congress.”

Persecondnews reports that the PDP’s internal crisis has been mounting, with several prominent members defecting to the APC.

At least two other governors are reportedly on the verge of joining Mbah to defect from the PDP.

The party’s NEC meeting postponement has sparked concerns about its internal stability and future prospects.

The APC has been gaining momentum in recent times, with several high-profile defections from the PDP.

Mbah’s defection is seen as a significant boost to the APC’s fortunes in the Southeast region.
