Tension Brews as Laide Bakare Sends Strong Warning to Portable

1.1k

A seemingly new celebrity feud appears to be raising its ugly head between actress Laide Bakare and controversial street-hop singer, Portable.

The Nollywood star issued a strong warning to Portable in a video making the rounds on Instagram, asking him to steer clear of her business and not meddle in matters that don’t concern him.

The video, which has since gone viral, captured Bakare in a visibly agitated state, warning the singer against dragging her into any public drama.

Although she didn’t provide full context for the outburst, her tone suggested that she felt disrespected or provoked by something Portable may have said or done.

Bakare, known for her bold personality and longstanding presence in Yoruba Nollywood, didn’t mince words.

She insisted that she has nothing to do with whatever issue Portable is involved in and that it would be in his best interest to avoid mentioning her name or family in his rants.

“Portable, let this be the first and last time you mention me,” she said in Yoruba, laced with English, clearly irritated.

She emphasised that she was not one of the people he could “clout chase” with and dared him to try her again if he had the guts.

This new tension comes just weeks after Portable was involved in another online spat with some of his colleagues in the entertainment industry.

He has become known for his erratic behaviours and penchant for calling out other celebrities in unfiltered social media videos.

Though it’s still unclear what exactly triggered Laide Bakare’s reaction, fans speculate that it might be related to comments Portable made in one of his recent live sessions.

Per Second News gathered that Portable referenced the actress while discussing a wider issue within the industry.

He mentioned Bakare’s name and asked why she could speak about Nigerian women who travel to Libya for alleged prostitution, asking if Bakare who doesn’t have a husband could speak about women in such manner.

In typical Portable fashion, he has not yet issued an official response, but many of his fans have flooded the comment sections with provocative takes, some defending him and others urging him to apologize to Laide before things escalate.

Laide, however, made it clear she won’t entertain any disrespect.

She reminded the public that she is a mother, a businesswoman, and a respected actress who won’t tolerate being disrespected by someone she perceives as unruly or attention-seeking.

Persecondnews reports that currently, the tension is palpable as both fan bases are abuzz.
