Justice Musa Liman of the Federal High Court in Abuja has granted ex-presidential candidate and activist, Omoyele Sowore, a bail of N10 million with a surety of same value.
The surety, who must be a responsible individual, is required to have landed property valued in like sum.
As part of the bail conditions, the surety must submit the original title documents of the landed property and a passport photograph to the court registrar.
In his ruling on the bail application, Justice Liman ordered Omoyele Sowore to surrender his international passport to the court registrar as a condition for his bail.
He also gave Sowore a 24-hour ultimatum to fulfill the bail conditions, failing which he would be remanded in police custody until the conditions are met.
Persecondnews recalls that the judge, after hearing arguments from both the defence and prosecution counsel yesterday, reserved his ruling on Sowore’s bail application until 1:00 pm on Thursday.
