After eight days in captivity, the wife of former Assistant Inspector General, Hakeem Odumosu, has been freed from her abductors, the Nigeria Police said on Thursday.

The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed this on his official X handle on Thursday morning.

Adejobi added that the abductors of Mrs Folasade Odumosu were killed, and ransom used as bait was recovered from them.

He said the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, commended the police operatives and the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, for the rescue operation carried out on Wednesday.

Adejobi restated that the Police Force is committed to safeguarding Nigerian citizens and the country.

Persecondnews had reported that on January 16, 2025, Mrs Odumosu was abducted at the gate of her residence in Arepo estate in Ogun State, off Lagos-Ibadan expressway near Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries.
