DPO killed in gunmen’ ambush in Delta

A tragic incident occurred on Sunday night as the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Agbarho Police Station in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State fell victim to a deadly ambush.

The Delta State Police Command confirmed the tragic incident on Monday morning.

The command’s spokesman, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the death of DPO Agbarho and the injuries of DPO Orerokpe. It was an ambush.”

Just a few days ago, the DPO reportedly resumed at the station.

On their way for an operation, the DPO, his Orerokpe counterpart, CSP Paul, and their men encountered an ambush around 1 a.m. at Owodokpokpo, the town’s rail station axis.

The Orerokpe Divisional Police Officer was critically injured in the ambush and rushed to a hospital for emergency treatment, sources revealed.

Several residents on Monday recalled a restless night plagued by the deafening sounds of gunfire.
