Film marketer Kazim Adeoti has opened up about the ongoing tensions in his first marriage after choosing to stay away from his wife, Funsho’s 50th birthday celebration in the United States.

Adeoti, who is married to Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe as his second wife, has faced public scrutiny regarding his relationship with Funsho since their wedding.

In a recent statement, Adeoti revealed that his absence from the milestone event was at the request of his first wife, Funsho.

According to him, she specifically asked him not to attend the birthday party or make any public posts about her on social media.

This decision, he said, was made to avoid a repeat of the drama that unfolded last year when he traveled to the U.S. to celebrate with her, which caused a media stir and further tension in their relationship.

“We had this conversation about how she intended to mark her 50th birthday, and she told me not to bother coming or posting about her,” Adeoti explained.

“I supported her morally and financially, but I respected her wishes and stayed away.”

This development is the latest in a series of challenges between Adeoti and his first wife, Funsho, since his decision to marry Mercy Aigbe.

Their relationship has been closely watched by the public, with many speculating that the second marriage has led to ongoing strains within Adeoti’s first union.

Funsho’s request for privacy during her birthday adds a new layer to the family dynamics, highlighting the fragile state of their relationship as they navigate the complexities of a polygamous marriage in the public eye.
