In a shocking revelation, Nigerian music star, Oxlade, has shared the reason behind his dropping out of Lagos State University (LASU) in his final year.
Threats from a group of people who wanted him to join their ranks, according to Oxlade, prompted his departure from the institution.
The singer disclosed that the group, allegedly involved in cult activities, had been pressuring him to join because of his physique, labeling him a “fine boy.”
Oxlade revealed that the group’s ultimatum was clear: join them or face the consequences.
Fearing for his safety, Oxlade made the difficult decision to leave the university, abandoning his studies in the final year.
“I dropped out in my final year in university… There were some gangs coming for me because I was a ‘fine boy’… it’s either you join them or they off you…” Oxlade recounted.
Persecondnews recalls that reports of cult-related activities and clashes have plagued LASU in particular.
Oxlade’s story serves as a stark reminder of the dangers students face in some Nigerian institutions.
Though he has achieved immense success in the music industry, Oxlade confessed that he still regrets not completing his degree.
“It’s always been a what-if for me,” he admitted.
Despite his accomplishments, Oxlade wished he could have wrapped up his academic journey.
