Paralympic 2024: Sports Minister raises athletes’ prize money by 200 percent

The Minister of Sports Development, Sen. John Owan Enoh, has increased the prize rewards for Team Nigeria athletes at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games by 200 percent as part of efforts to motivate the team to go for glory in the tournament.
Persecondnews correspondent, in a chat with an aide to the Minister from Germany on Thursday, confirmed that Enoh is currently in Germany to monitor the preparations of the Paralympic athletes ahead of the Games starting from August 28 to September 8, 2024.

He said: “The Minister has increased prize money by 200 percent with a reward of $15,000, $10,000, and $5,000, respectively, for gold, silver, and bronze medallists.

“This is done to motivate the team to go for glory in the four sports in which we will be taking part, which include para-athletics , para-badminton, powerlifting, and para-table tennis.”
