President Bola Tinubu has reacted to the killing of the District Head of Gatawa District in the Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, Alhaji Isa Bawa, by bandits, describing it as deeply disturbing.

According to Persecondnews, the terrorists responsible for Alhaji Isa Bawa’s gruesome murder demanded a ransom of N60 million and five motorcycles in exchange for the release of the traditional ruler’s body for proper burial.

The terrorists kidnapped, tortured, and brutally killed Bawa on Wednesday.

Before his tragic death, a distressing video surfaced showing the late traditional ruler, Alhaji Isa Muhammad Bawa, pleading for his life and urging the government to intervene.

In a statement on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the President prayed for the repose of the traditional ruler’s soul and comfort for his family at this difficult time.

The Nigerian leader expressed condolences to the bereaved family, the Gobir Emirate, and the government of Sokoto State, promising a decisive “response” to the heinous act.

The statement reads: “President Tinubu describes the savage attack on the traditional ruler as deeply disturbing and a heinous act that will not go without a decisive response.

“The President extends his profound condolences to the bereaved family, the Gobir Emirate, and the government of Sokoto State.

“The President prays for the repose of the soul of the traditional ruler and comfort for his family at this difficult time.

“President Tinubu assures Nigerians that his administration is aggressively removing threats to ensure the security of the nation and that these desperate acts of terror will be effectively countered.”
