SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Anambra State Police Command’s spokesperson, said: “We got the news like everyone else this morning, but the Commissioner of Police in Anambra, CP Enaghe Obono Itam, has reached out to the CP in that state (Kogi), rallying him to action to see how they can be freed.

“The commissioner has also posted the news in some of their strategy forum to see what can be done.

“He has pledged to give all his support, including any information that may be needed for the rescue.”

Meanwhile, there is uncertainty surrounding the location of the incident, with conflicting reports suggesting it occurred either in Kogi State or Ubiaja, Edo State, according to some relatives of the commissioner.

At the time of this report, the kidnappers had not established contact with the commissioner’s family.
