The Paris Olympics Games 2024 were concluded on Sunday with a colourful closing ceremonies held at the iconic 80,000-seater Stade de France, which was transformed into a gigantic concert hall.

Despite security threats prior to the games, 329 events across 32 different sports concluded without much disruption.

Persecondnews reports that Team USA finished first with 40 gold, 44 silver, and 42 bronze (126 medals); ranked second is Team China with 40 gold, 27 silver, and 42 bronze (91 medals).

Persecondnews observed that some of the athletes had already returned home, so the delegations of the participating teams on Sunday were relatively smaller than those at the opening ceremony.

After a series of beautiful performances filled with French culture, the Olympic flag was lowered, and International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach passed the flag to the Mayor of the second largest city in the United States of America, Mayor Karen Bass of Los Angeles.

Bach said: “Your performances very amazing; every performance sparked excitement around the world. During all these times, we stayed under one roof at the games village, and you created a culture of peace.

“This inspired all of us. Thank you for making the world a better place. We know the Olympic Games can create a culture of peace that inspires the world.

“I call on everyone to live in this culture of peace every single day; this Olympics Games can only inspire the world because of our French friends.

“Millions of spectators at iconic venues created an atmosphere of unity; the Olympics Games Paris 2024 created sensational games.”
