The nation’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting is currently underway at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, presided over by President Bola Tinubu.
The meeting, which commenced at noon, is anticipated to make pivotal decisions impacting various critical sectors of the Nigerian economy, with a significant number of cabinet members, including ministers, special advisers, and security chiefs, in attendance.
The meeting follows closely on the heels of the council’s decision to postpone consideration of several crucial projects under the Federal Ministry of Works, made just last week.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, had announced at the meeting the passing of Ahmed Muhammed Gusau, a former cabinet member and former Deputy Governor of the old Sokoto State.
He then led the council in a moment of silence in honour of Gusau’s memory.
