Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has been named Player of the Season by his Italian Serie A club, Atalanta.

Lookman had a stellar and amazing season with the Bergamo-based side, with his skills and goals taking Atalanta to two finals.

The club made the announcement on Thursday with the caption “Look who won the @italianoptic #POTS AGAIN!” on its official X handle.

The Nigerian won man of the match in the UEFA Europa League final, in which his hat-trick sealed victory for Atalanta, beating Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in the final.

Lookmam became the first player to score a hat-trick in a single-leg UEFA Cup/Europa League final.

He was named Man of the Final and netted five goals and made an assist in 11 appearances in the Europa League.

In the Serie A, Lookman, 26, netted 11 goals and provided eight assists in 31 appearances last season.

In the coming season, Atalanta will play in the UEFA Champions League.

He was also the joint-leading scorer for the Super Eagles at the delayed 2023 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire in February.
