Nigerian music legend, KWAM1, whose real name is Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, has broken his silence amidst swirling rumours and allegations, urging people to respect his privacy and cease spreading falsehoods about him and his wife.

Speaking with Per Second News at a palatial home in Ijebu Ode on Sunday, the acclaimed musician emphasized the need for privacy, stating, “People should leave my wife and me alone.”

He expressed frustration over “baseless rumours and lies” being circulated about him, asserting his right to make decisions and address certain matters despite societal expectations.

Acknowledging that every couple faces challenges, KWAM1 emphasized the importance of privacy in resolving such issues.

“Nobody needs to know how they overcome their issues,” he remarked, highlighting the toxicity of social media and cautioning against feeding into negativity.

Beyond music, KWAM1 revealed his diversified interests, including farming and business investments that continue to yield positive results. He also shared news of his wife’s flourishing business, indicating plans for expansion.

Addressing allegations made by his former drummer, AyanKunle, KWAM1 refuted claims of mistreatment, and likening their relationship to that of a master and slave.

He clarified that AyanKunle absconded during a tour in England in the 90s, resulting in his passport being confiscated by British authorities for overstaying his visa.

“Ayankunle and two others ran away from the band in England with their passports. And we returned to Nigeria. That was in the 90s. After he ran away, information reaching us indicated that in the course of him overstaying, he gave his passport to someone to come and present it at the British embassy.

“As of that time, they were not stamping visas on passport leaflets. The person successfully had his details changed to his while he maintained Ayankunle’s passport.”

Despite challenges and rumours, KWAM1 remains focused on progress and gratitude.

“Let people keep talking, while we are progressing,” he asserted, expressing gratitude for his blessings and refusing to dwell on negativity.
