Food, other items looted in NEMA warehouse, Abuja

Scores of inhabitants of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have looted a warehouse owned by the National Emergency Management Agency of Nigeria (NEMA).

Food and other supplies were taken away by the inhabitants.

The warehouse, which is situated in the Phase 3 area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja’s Karimo, was reportedly raided early on Sunday.

The Nigeria Police Force has sent officers to the scene in order to secure the premises and scatter the looters.

DSP Josephine Adeh, a spokesman for the FCT Police Command, confirmed the incident and stated that everything had been brought under control.

“The situation is now under control.”
