The Acting Inspector General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun, was on Tuesday afternoon decorated at the State House by the Vice- President, Sen. Kashim Shettima.
This decoration ceremony is coming barely 24 hours after President Bola Tinubu approved the immediate retirement of all service chiefs and the Inspector General of Police.
Persecondnews reports that the ceremony which started at 1.00 pm at the State House, Abuja, was witnessed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, the Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, the Chief of Staff to the President, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, the National Security Adviser, Mr Nuhu Ribadu, and the immediate past Inspector General of Police, Mr Usman Alkali.
The new police chief, who spoke to newsmen shortly after the brief ceremony, said: “I feel like a tiger ready to devour Nigeria’s internal enemies (criminals).”
