Singer Simi has narrated how she was almost denied entry into one of the passport offices in Lagos over her dressing.

The singer said she was delayed at the gate because her dressing was deemed “inappropriate” and was asked to go back and dress decently.

According to her, she was not allowed to go in because she was told she was indecently dressed.

She said she had to take off her nosering and earring before she was allowed into the office.

Simi said, “I went to the passport office to get my passport done and when I reached the gate, they said I should go back because I am indecently dressed.

“I look myself up to down, and asked can you see anything in my body that is indecent? He said he cannot see but I should go back and wear something more ‘down’.”

The mother of one added, “I had to take out my nosering, earring, and had to cover my chest with a little scarf. I was also asked to sing for them.”
