Music star, Portable, arraigned in Ogun for alleged assault, theft, other offences

The Police in Ogun State on Monday made good their threat to arraign and prosecute controversial musician, Portable, for assault and theft of musical equipment and other charges before an Ifo Magistrate’s Court.

Persecondnews recalls that Portable was arrested on Friday, March 31 and detained over the weekend at the state police headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta after failing to report himself within 72-hour ultimatum given to him by the police.

The ‘Zazoo Zeh’ crooner’s travails began last week after he resisted arrest by the police who stormed his bar at Sango-Ota.

The singer, in refusing the arrest, said his arrest was “unwarranted,” adding that he made his money in a legitimate way.

The 29-year-old also called himself “a federal government liability”.

The court has, however, granted Portable bail after he pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.
