Sporadic shooting at Iperu, Ogun Gov. Abiodun and PDP’s guber candidate, Adetutu’s town

Sporadic gunshots were recorded in Ayegbami area of Iperu-Remo, Ikenne local government area, the country home of Ogun Gov. Dapo Abiodun during Saturday’s governorship and state assembly polls.

The gun-wielding hoodlums snatched ballot boxes at polling unit 05, Ward 03 unrestrained.

They invaded the polling unit on about 20 motorcycles and started shooting into the air with the aim of chasing away voters.

The invasion of the hoodlums resulted in chaos, forcing many voters to scarper for safety to avoid being hit by bullets.

The thugs succeeded in escaping with ballot boxes before security operatives could respond.

Also, the Assistant Polling Officer (APO) for the unit, Alalade Babatunde was beaten up by the hoodlums.

Speaking with journalists one of the voters accused members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the town of being the brain behind the incident.

Persecondnews recalls that a similar attack occurred in Iperu during the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly polls.
