Two female employees of Lagos Govt die in BRT bus-train collision

A BRT bus conveying staff of the Lagos State Government on Thursday collided with a moving train, killing two persons on the spot and several others injured.

The accident occurred when a train coming from Abeokuta/Ibadan into Lagos trapped the bus on the rail which tried to cross the PWD/Sogunle rail crossing.

Ibrahim Farinloye, spokesman for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) confirmed the incident, disclosing that two bodies of female have been recovered.

“Two bodies of female staff of the State Government have been recovered and several injured persons have been evacuated.

“The State Government staff bus was trying to cross the PWD/Sogunle rail crossing while the train coming into Lagos from Abeokuta, Ogun State, trapped the bus on its rail,” Farinloye said.
