Just in: Ahead of Buhari’s visit: Explosion rocks Kogi, three fatalities recorded

At least three persons have been killed in an explosion which occurred in Okene, Kogi State, on Thursday morning.

The blast incident occurred at the palace of the traditional ruler of the ancient town, Oyinoyi, in Okenne council area.

The tragic incident is coming some hours to the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to the state to inaugurate some projects.

According to a report reaching Persecondnews, operatives of the Police Anti-Bomb Unit have been mobilized to the scene of the incident.

The cause of the explosion has not been ascertained as at press time but it is believed to be an explosive.

Those injured in the blast have been taken to the hospital for treatment.
