After two days in custody, popular Nigerian pop star, Daniel Oladapo, a.k.a D’Banj has been released.
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (lCPC) let D’Banj off its hook on Friday, Persecondnews has confirmed.
His lawyer, Mr Pelumi Olajengbesi, who asked the anti-graft agency to release on Thursday unconditionally that he was not involved in the alleged fraud, disclosed this on Friday.
The lawyer, who described it as media trial, said the musician was released on self-recognition.
Persecondnews had reported that D’banj was arrested on December 7 by ICPC over alleged fraudulent diversion of millions of N-Power funds in collaboration with some government officials.
The music star was detained at the ICPC Headquarters, Abuja, and was denied administrative bail.
