Skit maker, Abdulgafar Abiola a.k.a Cute Abiola, is currently counting his blessings following his appointment as the Special Adviser on Creative Industries to the Kwara Governor, notwithstanding his adversity in the Nigerian Navy.

For Cute Abiola, God has turned his adversity to blessings and changed his story.

The online comedian said this on Wednesday to mark the first anniversary of his arrest and subsequent detention by the Nigerian Navy for flouting the social media rules of the Force.

But he was quick to say that the arrest and detention prepared him for the new journey he has embarked upon by working with the governor closely.

The skit maker was detained without the knowledge of his family in 2021 which forced his wife to raise an alarm on the social media about his whereabouts, Persecondnews recalls.

Recounting his ordeal just one year ago in a post shared on his Instagram page, Abiola said: “Today being 16th November 2022 makes it exactly one year I was arrested and detained by the Nigerian Navy for violating the Force Social Media Regulation, by posting my pictures on social media while on uniform.

“I recalled this voyage with longing memories and I agreed that the torments of those times were efforts by the Navy to prepare me for the numerous tasks ahead.

“Now, the lessons learnt and experience gathered are propelling me towards actualizing my dreams. It’s really a moment to remember.”

Persecondnews reports that congratulatory messages been pouring in for the newly-appointed Governor’s Special Adviser.
