In a bid to straighten up his matrimonial life, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, has taken another shot at marriage after three failed attempts by marrying a new wife.
The new “Olori” is Mariam Anako, who was welcomed to the palace on Tuesday evening ahead of preparations for traditional rites and ceremonies.
Persecondnews recalls that some weeks ago the Royal Majesty had taken a new bride and was waiting to unveil her.
An introduction ceremony had earlier taken place about a month ago.
Anako is the fourth wife the Ooni will be marrying to date.
From Kogi State, Mariam grew up in Kwara State. She is a top shot at Nest Oil and a sister to the Yeye Oge of Ibogun Olaoparun Kingdom, Dr Railiat Anako Abdulsalam, a politician cum oil and gas mogul.
Abdulsalam is an ally to two of Ooni of Ife‘s sisters, Folashade Ogunwusi Fadiro and Shola Ogunwusi.
This development is coming months after his third wife, Queen Naomi Silekunola quit her marriage and moved out of the palace.
The three wives had left under circumstances not clear to the public.
Before Oba Ogunwusi ascended the throne, he had an affair with a woman, Omolara Olatubosun which produced his first daughter, Adeola Aanuoluwapo Ogunwusi but the relationship was not consummated.
His first wife, Adebukola Bombota, got married to him in 2008 but later crashed.
In 2015, he did not make an attempt at marriage until he became the Ooni while in 2016, he married Wuraola Zaynab Otiti, a Benin woman.
Again, barely two years after, the marriage crashed. The monarch got another heartthrob, Prophetess Naomi Silekunola, a gospel preacher, whom she married in 2018.
The marriage also crashed in December 2021; Naomi quit the marriage after giving birth to a son (prince), Tadenikawo.
