A cement-laden truck on Tuesday evening had a head-on collision with a fully loaded 14-seater bus along Otukpo/Enugu expressway, Benue State, killing all the 14 passengers.
The bus with registration no. ABC-878SZ was reported to have loaded from Ugbokolo, Benue State, and was heading to Abuja, before it had a head-on collision with a Dangote cement truck going towards Enugu.
Shockingly, the truck driver was nowhere to be found after the accident Persecondnews gathered.
Persecondnews recalls that in 2021,the Dangote Cement Plc inaugurated a Drivers’ Training Centre for its truck drivers across the country as part of measures to curb road traffic crashes.
Speaking to newsmen at the convocation of its first graduates of 50 Trainee Drivers, at Obajana, Kogi State, the Head of the Dangote Drivers Training Centre, Mr Harisson Pepple, said the training was in line with the company’s zero-tolerance for auto crashes.
He said the days of crashes involving Dangote trucks are numbered.
