Protesters took to the streets of Abuja, the nation’s capital, in the early hours of Friday, Nigeria’s 61st Independence Day, calling for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The protesters who clutched big placards and banners with the inscription,”Buhari Must Go”, stormed the Dantata Bridge on Airport Road, Abuja, and set fire to used tyres on the expressway.
Persecondnews gathered that the protesters had just converged at the venue to begin their protest when heavily armed policemen stormed the area and dispersed them with teargas.
