Just in: Benue Gov. escapes assassination in fresh bandits’ attack

Few weeks after Benue Governor Samuel Ortom raised an alarm that Fulani herdsmen were plotting to kill him, the state chief executive has reportedly escaped death by hairsbreadth.

According to a report, some gunmen suspected to be bandits on Saturday attacked the governor as he was being convoyed to Markudi.

The governor’s security men, however, replied and repelled the bandits.

The incident occurred at Tyo Mu on Makurdi-Gboko road at 12.00pm.
