BREAKING: Horror: Rampaging kidnappers waste Ondo first-class monarch

Kidnappers, who have been on the prowl unrestrained by the Ondo State Government, have shot dead a first class monarch in the state.

The deceased is the Olufon of lfon on Benin-Owo-Akure, Oba lsreal Adewusi.

According to reports,  he had attended the monthly meeting of the State Council of Obas in Akure, the state capital, and was returning to lfon when the kidnappers launched an attacked.

The armed abductors had ambushed the traditional ruler and shot severally at his vehicle at Elegbeka.

“They tried to flag down the vehicle on the highway but the driver refused to stop and they fired the vehicle.

“In the process, the oba was hit by bullets,” a community and police sources said.

“By the time he was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, he had passed on.”

As usual, the police command spokesman, DSP Tee Leo lkoro, said a man-hunt has been launched to hunt down the kidnap gang.

Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu, whose nearby town, Owo, and adjoining  communities had been seized recently by the bandits, has rushed to Ifon to commiserate with the people.

Persecondnews recalls that the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Muhammed Adamu,  had visited the state to access the destruction and looting of police stations during the #EndSARS protest on Wednesday.
