About three months into the new year, about N295 billion has been released for some critical projects across the country as appropriated in the 2020 budget, according to the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed.
The government has also disbursed $220 million (about N67.1 billion) as counterpart fund for ongoing railway projects being financed and constructed by Chinese government.
Ahmed told State House correspondents that the releases were made to transportation, Niger Delta, Works and Housing ministries.
Ahmed said this after the presidential committee to review the impact of coronavirus on the economy submitted its interim report to the President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa, Abuja on Friday.
On the report of the committee, she said the president had directed the committee to do more consultations and report back to him next week.
