Ashiru awarded best commissioner in Nigeria

Former Ogun State commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Abimbola Ashiru, has been awarded the best commissioner in Nigeria, at the Global Excellence Awards for Excellence. The award is conferred on Public Officers deemed worthy, and who have great experience, knowledge and impact, doing great work at home and abroad.

Ashiru, who is regarded as one of the closest Ijebu sons to the paramount ruler of Ijebuland, the Awujale, Oba Sikiru Adetona, turned the ministry in the State around by improving its fortunes with his entrepreneurial skills.

Expressing his appreciation for the award, Ashiru said: “Ogun state will continue to strive, and will still continue to be one of the best States in Nigeria.

“This award is actually dedicated to the good people of Ogun State, who gave me the opportunity to served Ogun State for seven and half years. Actually in the history of Ogun State, I think I’m the longest serving commissioner of commerce and industry.”
