The minister of Labour and productivity, Dr Chris Ngige Wednesday took a swipe at the APC chairman Adams Oshiomhole, calling the ruling party Chairman ignorant.
Oshiomhole on Monday threatened to suspend the minister, “If the President condones disrespect for his office, I will not condone disrespect for the party,” threatening that “When we expel them, we will find out how a government can keep a rebel in the cabinet, he said.
But responding to the statement credited to Oshiomhole, Ngige said: “How? In a party that we formed and brought them in?
“The man (Oshiomhole) is talking out of ignorance. I am not afraid of suspension,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Minister had previously defended his refusal not to constitute some of the boards under his ministry, including that of the NSITF.
Ngige said earlier that his refusal to constitute the NSITF Board stemmed from cases of financial mismanagement that has led to investigation of the agency by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The minister said Oshiomhole’s ignorance might be another strain in the party as his amateurishness has become a hallmark of his leadership.
